Fun Facts!
When communities were small, people were known by nicknames or first names. It wasn’t until 1066 that the Norman barons introduced surnames to England; and Bob’s your uncle.
What you will need:
- 3D printer filament. I like the look of the Laywood filament for these ornaments. I use a laywood and stain them a darker color after printing and sanding.
2. Assorted Sandpaper
Now just print it, sand it and stain it. On my Airwolf 3D printer, I used an extruder temperature of 205 C, a retract speed of 40 mm/s and a retract distance of 5.5 mm. For sanding I started with 60 grit and finished with a 180 grit.
Finally, cut your string to length and push the ends through the holes and tie a knot on the back to keep the string in place. And that’s it… enjoy!
Fun Fact!
Laywood 3D printer filament is made from 40% wood fibers mixed with polymer binders that allow it to be melted and extruded on modern 3D printers.
